A survey found that women are more likely than males to experience severe joint problems.
47% of women with joint pain reported that it was so severe that they lost sleep, and 40% reported a decline in their mental health.
Moreover, 44% of women reported that it affected their emotional well-being, compared to 34% of males.

According to experts, physiological factors and weight gain during menopause contribute to the negative effects on women.
As part of its Healthier Nation Index, Nuffield Health surveyed 8,000 adults aged 16 and up. It was discovered that eight out of ten women had experienced joint discomfort at some point.
