Ozzy Osbourne tells followers he is no longer “physically capable” of touring after years of spinal surgery following fall.

Since 2019, when a fall exacerbated injuries he sustained in a quad bike accident in 2003, former Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne has undergone much spinal surgery. In 2020, he stated he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Now, he has sent fans an emotional message.

Ozzy Osbourne has stated that he is no longer “physically capable” of completing scheduled gigs in Europe and the United Kingdom, assuring fans he “never dreamed” his touring days would end “in this manner.”

The 74-year-old former Black Sabbath singer has undergone major spinal surgery and other treatments over the past four years, following a fall at home in 2019 that exacerbated problems he sustained in a near-fatal quad bike accident in 2003.

He disclosed he had Parkinson’s disease in 2020.

Osbourne has made a few cancellation and rescheduling announcements over the previous few years. But he has recently stated that he cannot manage the travel involved in a large tour.

He stated in an Instagram post: “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to tell my loyal fans”.

“My spine was injured four years ago this month in a terrible accident. During this time, my sole objective has been to return to the stage.”

Despite three surgery, stem cell treatments, physical therapy sessions, and recent “groundbreaking” Cybernics (HAL) Treatment – using a wearable robot suit, Osbourne assured his five million followers that his singing voice is “fine” but his body is “still physically weak.”

“I am truly humbled by your patience in holding on to your tickets for so long, but I have come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of performing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t handle the requisite travel,” he stated.

Osbourne has appeared at several shows in recent years

According to tour schedules posted on his website, Osbourne was scheduled to begin a series of concerts in Helsinki, Finland, on 3 May, followed by performances in Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, and London, before concluding the tour on 14 June in his hometown of Birmingham.

Despite his health issues, Osbourne has appeared at several shows in recent years. Including the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and a 2021 NFL game in California during halftime.

Osbourne gave fans optimism that live performances are not completely out of the question. Even though tours may be arduous, requiring multiple performances in a short amount of time and extensive travel.

“I never expected that my traveling days would finish in this manner,” he remarked. “My team is now brainstorming locations where I can perform without traveling from city to city and nation to country.”

Osbourne also acknowledged his fans, crew, family, and “longtime friends” Judas Priest “for their unwavering devotion, support, and commitment.”

After confirming his Parkinson’s diagnosis to Kerrang magazine, Osbourne stated: “Do I ever contemplate my eventual demise?

“I consider it, but I do not worry about it. I don’t think about dying in 15 years or less. It will happen to everyone.”
