Annie Wersching: 24 and The Last of Us actress dies aged 45.

Annie Wersching, who portrayed Tess in the popular video game The Last of Us and appeared in 37 episodes of the television drama 24, has died at the age of 45.

Neil Druckmann, the creator of The Last Of Us, confirmed the news on Twitter, “You left us way too soon.”

24-star Kiefer Sutherland referred to her as a “wonderful lady” and “my friend” and expressed his sadness for her family.

In 2020, the actress, who had portrayed the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard, was diagnosed with cancer.

Wersching, who was born in Missouri, made her acting debut in 2002 as Liana in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.

She has also appeared on Frasier, Charmed, General Hospital, The Vampire Diaries, and The Rookie, among others.

Alexi Hawley, the showrunner for The Rookie, established a fundraiser page for the actress’s family with the following statement: “Such heartbreaking news. Annie was related to The Rookies. A unique and gifted individual who brought excitement to our set and improved every situation she was in.”

Julie Plec, the showrunner of The Vampire Diaries, said, “I’ve been a fan since 24 and was fortunate to have Annie play mother to two of the hottest vampires… RIP Annie, you amazing spirit.”

Michael Chiklis, who played in The Shield and two Fantastic Four films, expressed his sadness over Annie Wersching’s passing. Too young. Cancer is a ruthless killer thief.”

Stephen, her husband, and three kids, Eddie, Ozzie, and Archie, ages 12, nine, and four, survive Wersching.
