Following a very successful first week, the pop star’s newest album Midnights breaks several records.
Taylor Swift is the first artist to hold all of the top 10 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
All of the tracks are from the pop star’s most recent album Midnights, which was published on Friday, October 21.
The previous record holder was American rapper Drake, who had nine of the top 10 tracks for a week in September of 2017.
Swift responded to the news by tweeting to her 91.5 million followers: “Ten out of ten of the Hot 100? On my tenth record? I AM IN SHAMBLES.”
The anti-Hero, her first song off the album, reached number one, earning her ninth career number one.
Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow On The Beach, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled, Question…?, You’re On Your Own, Kid, Karma, and Vigilante S*** rounded out the top ten.
Midnights is the fastest-selling album of the year, surpassing Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, per the Official Charts Company.
It garnered 204,000 chart sales in seven days, more than tripling Swift’s previous record of 90,300, which she set with her 2014 album 1989.
It was also the most streamed album of the year, with 72.5 million streams throughout the first week.
Swift also swept the British charts last week, with both Midnights and Anti-Hero reaching the top spot.
It occurs just days after the controversy surrounding the Anti-Hero music video.
The original version of the song had the pop singer stepping onto a bathroom scale before the word “fat” appears on the dial.
On YouTube and Apple Music, however, the video was modified to depict Swift receiving simply a disapproving glance from a standing double.
After numerous fans and prominent figures criticized the original sequence, claiming it promoted “fatphobia,” the scene was altered.
