- Walliams lawsuit settled
- Private conversations disclosure regret
- Departure after disrespectful remarks
According to Walliams, private discussions such as his father’s passing and food addiction issues could have been recorded.
David Walliams and the producer of Britain’s Got Talent have reached an “amicable resolution,” the producer has expressed “sincere regret” that his private conversations during his time as a judge on the show were disclosed.
Between 2012 and last year, the comedian appeared on Fremantle’s show. In his lawsuit, he accused the company of misusing confidential information and violating data protection regulations.
He claimed the corporation caused him financial and psychiatric suffering, according to High Court documents released last month.
Departure Following Apology
Following an apology for “disrespectful remarks” directed at contestants during filming breaks in January 2020 at the London Palladium, Walliams departed. This departure from the program occurred in 2022.
According to court documents, Walliams, 52, believed that producers “retained transcripts… of everything he said” and that Fremantle “must be the ultimate source” of the disclosures.
The comedian stated he was being documented exclusively during contestants’ performances and backstage productions.
He said confidential chats about food addiction and his father’s death could have been captured.
A draft report by retired consultant psychiatrist Dr. Mark Collins, which was included in the court documents, stated that the leak had “a profound, severe, and at times very worrying effect on (Walliams’s) mental health.

It was stated that Walliams is taking medication and is “afflicted with uncontrollable negative thoughts,” including “active suicidal thoughts.”
Due to the negative publicity surrounding the incident, Walliams stated that his earnings had been “substantially reduced.”
