Princess Royal named Craig a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George on Tuesday morning at Windsor Castle, the same honor held by Ian Fleming’s famous character.
As a result of his contributions to film and theatre, actor Daniel Craig has received the same honor as his character James Bond: a CMG.
Tuesday morning at Windsor Castle, Princess Royal made Daniel Craig a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, the same distinction held by Ian Fleming’s character.
The 54-year-old actor has been in the last five James Bond films, beginning with Casino Royale in 2006 and concluding with No Time To Die in 2021.
Craig also acted alongside Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Jamie Lee Curtis in Knives Out (2019). The sequel to the film is scheduled to premiere at the end of the following month.
Paul Greengrass, a film director, producer, and screenwriter who has directed multiple Hollywood blockbusters including three Bourne films and Captain Phillips, was also honored on Tuesday (2013).
Dame Emily Lawson will also be honored for her contributions to the NHS, particularly during the COVID-19 epidemic, as she oversaw the UK’s vaccine distribution program.
Ashley Banjo, a street dancer and television personality, will receive an MBE for services to dance in recognition of his rise to stardom following Diversity’s victory over Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.
Jonny Brownlee, the younger of the Brownlee brothers, will also get an MBE alongside James Guy, a swimmer who won two gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Louis Cayer, a tennis instructor, will receive an MBE for his services to sport. He has worked extensively with men’s doubles players, notably Jamie Murray and Emma Raducanu, as a senior performance adviser for the Lawn Tennis Association.
